It has been wonderful to welcome lots of new members to the Love Reflexology community here on Instagram and in the Facebook group during January, many who are just beginning their reflexology studies or launching their business.

January Reflections

The final day of January has arrived and before you move forward into the new month, set aside some time to reflect and evaluate this month within your reflexology business.

Consider the following questions:

(1) What went well this month within my reflexology business?

(2) What didn’t go well this month?

(3) What can I learn from January, so I can adapt and tweak my work?

(4) What am I proud of this month?

Working through these questions will help to let go of things that didn’t go to plan, decide what you can do differently next month, and also celebrate your achievements.

I have just completed my responses to the list, and I hope you enjoy completing yours too.

Tuesday Tip If your diary is quieter at the mome

Tuesday Tip

If your diary is quieter at the moment due to seasonal client illness, now is a great time to consider the question:

“When was the last time you viewed your reflexology business from your clients’ perspective?”

As a reflexologist you will deliver the best possible treatments to your clients, but how often do you think about all of the other elements that they will come into contact with when working with you?

What impression could their experience give them about your business?

Here are some ideas to consider:

(1) Booking

How easy is it for your clients to book an appointment with you? Do you have an online booking system? If you do not use an online booking system, is the information on how to book easily available on your website?

(2) Prices and Payment

Are your prices displayed and easy to find on your website, leaflets etc?

Do you provide clear information on how you take payment?

(3) Location

Do you provide clear information ℹ️ sharing where the treatment will take place, including the address and helpful information on where to park?

(4) Treatment Room - First Impressions Count

Consider the overall atmosphere of the treatment room from a clients perspective. Is it clean, welcoming, warm, relaxing?

Top Tip: Sit in the treatment chair or rest on the couch and view the room from the clients’ perspective. Could anything be improved? Does the room need a repaint or refreshing in someway?

Spending time checking-in with your reflexology business and viewing it from a clients’ perspective is an activity I suggest to my business mentoring clients. This activity can really help your business to grow, as client satisfaction will progress to more bookings and recommendations.

Instagram Update 😊

Following the grid update at the weekend, have you noticed the latest update to Reels?

Have you noticed your Instagram grid has changed this weekend?

If you use Instagram for your reflexology business, you may have noticed that your grid has changed and the images have gone from the original squares to portrait images.

This has meant posts now appear on the grid cropped and resized to the new format, which has meant old graphics may appear to have some text missing and looked squashed, which I know has made many Instagram grids look less than ideal.

So, what do you need to know moving forwards? 👇🏻

If you are posting on Instagram and you are creating graphics on Canva, choose size 1080 x 1350 px, which will give you the portrait size you now need.

If you are taking photographs on your phone select 4:5 ratio for the image size (this is the default size your phone takes). 📸

If your old graphics appear squashed since the new update, you can try this:

(1) Tap on your old post.
(2) Select the 3 dots on the right of your post or reel.
(3) Select adjust preview - fill or background. This should allow you to adjust your previous posts or add a background to fit the new size format.

It’s to time to celebrate! 🥳

As a mentor I feel it is important to reflect at the end of each week on our business achievements no matter how big or small, so they can be acknowledged and celebrated before moving onto the next week.

Taking some time out to do this may give you a boost, especially if the week has had its challenges.
